What we collect, why, and who else touches it. Plain English, no surprises.

What we collect from you
What you type into the build form: business name, trade, town, email, and anything optional you add, such as your phone number, services, notes about your business and your licence or registration.
What you add later: the words and photos you put on your site.
Payment details: handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. We keep a record that you paid, your plan, and Stripe's reference for you.
Your internet address (IP): kept briefly so one person cannot flood the form.
What we collect from your customers
When someone fills in the contact form on your website, we store their name, phone number and message and email it to you. That information is yours. We hold it on your behalf and do not use it for anything else.
What we use it for
Building, hosting and updating your website.
Sending you emails about your site: when it is ready, when it is live, new enquiries, billing and cancellation.
Counting how many people visit our own pages each day. This is a daily total only. We do not track individual visitors and we do not use advertising cookies.
We do not sell your information, and we do not send marketing email unless you ask for it.
Who else handles it
We use other companies to run the service. Each only gets what it needs to do its job.
Supabase stores our database, in Sydney, Australia.
Bunny and Netlify host the websites.
Stripe takes payments.
Postmark sends our emails.
Anthropic writes the first draft of your site's wording. We send it your business name, trade, town, services and any notes you gave us.
Google looks up your business listing, only if you press "Find me on Google".
Some of these companies store information outside New Zealand.
Stored on your device
We keep two small things in your browser: your private edit link, so you can get back to your site, and a referral code if another tradie sent you. Nothing else.
How long we keep it
We keep your details while you have a site with us, and afterwards so you can pick up where you left off. Ask us to delete them and we will, apart from records we must keep by law, such as payment records.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Email hello@tradieweb.co.nz. If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
